Is it really okay to have ONE glass of wine every now and then while pregnant? And does it matter whether or not is white/red or a blush?

It is okay for a women to have a glass of wine while pregnant. Whomever says NO......is an idiot. When I say glass, we are talking 6-8 ounces of wine....not a full glass. What do you think happened to all the women who didn't know they were pregnant and were getting drunk...you think it effected the baby........of course it did but that is because they were over the limit when it becomes harmful. In the 1800-1900 women drank wine pregnant.....back then it was natural, water carried more diseases and milk had a long process in making sure no infections were in it from the animal. Doctors also gave women wine when experiancing false labor or high nerves. Now we go to a hospital/clinic and get an IV.....don't you wonder what drugs are effecting your baby. I hate when I hear someone repramaned someone because of having a glass a wine.......it is petty. Just watch the intake of wine and drinking a sweet wine is easier on the stomach...less likely in getting heartburn. Best of Luck and Happy Holidays Congrats on the 2nd baby as well!!!

My OB told me one or two glasses the entire pregnancy, so save them for a special occasion.
When me and my husband celebrated our marriage with our family for the first time on Thanksgiving[all the family was in town] I had a small glass of champagne.
xD

it is! i called my doctor yesterday to see if i could drink this holiday drink called wassail which has a bit of whiskey in it but its heated up really hot, and she told me it should be ok but if i was really worried about it not to. she reassured me a glass of wine or beer was ok as well as long as you dont really get into a routine of it and drink more than a glass or two. so you should be in the clear!

I dont care if people give me thumbs down for this but yes, it is ok to have a glass of wine every now and then. its highly recommended you try and avoid alcohol but the say it ok to have occasional drink. With my first preg i didnt touch a drop alcohol from moment i found out i was preg till after i gave birth and finished breastfeeding. (although i did have a drink day before i found out i was preg). with my 2nd baby i had about 2 or 3 small drinks in preg and my baby is fine. i am part breastfeeding and still have occasionaly drink (even my health visitor said its ok as long as i dont drink excessively). (oh and guiness - beer- is good for you in preg -in small amounts - as it has lots of iron in it!)

I think it is okay in the later part of the pregnancy. They say red wine is better for you.

ok i know this one, yes its ok to have 2 glasses of wine a night, but i wouldnt be doing it. its ok to have wine and beer through your pregnancy, as they are the only 2 drinks you are allowed to have without getting into trouble from your doctor. good luck and its ok to have white or red.

No. It is not OK. You can hold off of alcohol for that short 9 mos, right? Of course you can. Why take that risk?????
