i have a smell down there and i take showers everyday. i feel so embarrassed like i can't be myself. i kno my friends notice it but dont say anything. i only wear pajama pants to sleep cuz i read that ur supposed to let it air out down there if u dont want it to smell. i have tried sprinkling baking soda in panties but nothing works. i rinse down there everyday and night. i dont think it is an infection cuz i have never had one before. i am not sexually active, even though i was sexually abused as a child. plz and thank you for answering this question. :)

first of all, God gave you hair down there for a reason. It protects the area.
Second, I would go to the doctor, just b/c you have never had an infection before doesnt mean you dont have one now. Also, since you were sexually abused as a kid, if you havent been tested for STDs, I would do that ASAP, it could also be the cause of the smell. But usually yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis have a smell.
Yes sleeping without underwear is a good idea, my doctor told me that.

Sounds like a bacterial infection. You can get them from wearing tampons.... bacteria gets into places you least expect, and pubic hair helps keep it away. Doesn't mean you are fully protected, but it helps. An untreated bacterial can make you smell down there. If it's strong enough where your friends can smell it, you need to see the doc for some antibiotics. There is no other way for a vaginal infection to be treated, with the exception of a yeast infection, and the OTC creams don't work for everyone.
If you are not having cottage cheese like discharge, (white and really thick like paste,) and you are not itching or burning, I would rule out a yeast infection. See the doctor. You don't have to be embarrassed, they have seen and heard everything! Trust me! Go get it taken care of, you'll feel much better.... You'll be able to sit next to friends with confidence! Good luck!

Depending on where one is in their cycle they may notice a smell of the blood when the period is starting but otherwise the smell can be an indicator of an infection called bacterial vaginosis. The only way to find out for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation to see what they think.

You should see a physician- you could have a non- sex related infection that is causing the smell. You also might think of getting the hair waxed instead of shaving. (This is what the fancy models and beautiful centerfold women do.)
Also, wear ONLY 100% cotton underwear. Don't wear pantyhose. Let the area breathe.

Wow, I think you may be feeling more self conscious than you should. You probably don't have a smell. If you think you do ask your best friend. If they are really your friend they will tell you. You sound almost borderline obsessive compulsive. If I were you, I would go to the doctor to see if you have a yeast infection (sounds bad but lots of women get them). You are supposed to have some discharge, that is normal. Have you ever been to a counselor for your sexual abuse? That would probably help. Just a thought...

FYI shaving down there cause MORE germs and bacteria to grow down there..Hair helps it not get inside u and usually falls off before it gets inside of u instead it going straight in with the no hair.

It's normal to have a smell down there. All women do. It's normal to have discharge there, too--your body wants to keep that area moist, just like it keeps your mouth and nose moist. To reassure yourself that you are normal, it might be a good idea to go to a doctor and ask them. S/he can reassure you that this is normal and healthy, and you have excellent hygiene, and it's nothing to worry about.

i'm 39 weeks pregnant and on the subject of the time i replace into 33 weeks the surgeon prescribed greater iron for me to take, and as a consequence, I too have had black stools enormously constantly when you consider that then and formerly. i would not challenge approximately it. yet wait for a decision out of your surgeon purely in case.
