It disgusts me, the season seems to start earlier and earlier each year.
Little is made of the significance of the day.
It is all about spend, spend, spend.

Christmas has become such a depressing time for so many people because of the expectations for gift giving. How do you determine who is "important" enough in your life to buy a gift for? There are so many people, but you want to get something for everyone.
All of those gifts add up and most hard working people can't handle them all. Big family? Screwed. A lot of smart families have come up with different ways to handle gift buying to save people money.
I just think the whole thing sucks. It's not about the gifts anyways, and I'm not even religious.
I decided to make all my gifts this year. I spent $200 at the craft store, and that will cover everybody and the gifts will actually mean something.

Its all pretty naff and people should be more creative than relying on the shop bought stuff even though I got my Mother a new blender cause she makes lovely chocolate sponge cakes. Just encouraging her.
I am making cards because I like using my imagination but I am not religious I just think it makes family come together when these days they don't have much time for anything other than paying the bills as sad as it is I blame Christmas for their huge dept. People should stop fussing and do what they feel happy doing without obligation some of us don't need much if anything at all.
It is way out of control and I think the stress for some outweighs the fun.

every holiday it seems has been commercialized in some way or another. I personally think that is not good in some ways. Because then people forget the true meaning of certain holidays. Yes Christmas is one of those holidays where people tend to forget the true meaning. Whether you are religious or not there are many meanings for Christmas.

I admit it's a bit much. Macy's has the Christmas trees and decorations out in late September now.
It is true some of the religious aspects have been lost. But, I think the underlying idea of giving is a good one.

The financial aspects way out of control. The stress factor got so bad for me that I backed out this year, told everyone that I wasn't gonna do it and I mean it.
My best friend & me are spending Christmas Day on the beach w a picnic basket and as much peace and quiet as is available anywhere on this earth.
Just can't do it anymore.

I think it is all about money and how much you can spend and get anymore. This is not good, I think some of the best Christmas's I had were when I was young, and didn't have alot of money and made stuff, and things for decorations and gifts. I am not religious, but I know this season isn't about that, it is about celebrating Jesus and his birth. wake up people!!!

It was commercialism at its founding when the 3 wise men gave Jesus frankincense and myrrh and--was it gold? I really don't remember.
