1E15 kg * m^2/s^2 = m * (3E8 m/s)^2 ?

m= 1E+15 kg * m^2/s^2/ (3E+8 m/s)^2
m= 3.3 E+6 kg

Apparently 2 different objects have equal kinetic energy. And the second object's mass is just given as m.

So far you have 2 very different answers. Let's see. Yah, Edward overlooked something. The second object's speed is (3E8 m/s)^2, and you need to square the 3E8 part of that too.

1E15 kg * m^2/s^2 = m * (3E8 m/s)^2
1E15 kg * m^2/s^2 = m * 9E16 m^2/s^2
Cancel the m^2/s^2 parts
1E15 kg = m * 9E16
Now divide both sides by 9E16
m = 1E15 kg / 9E16
m = 0.1111E-1 kg = 0.01111 kg

Maybe you mean

Energy = 1E15 kg-m^2/s^2 = 1E15 N-m
Energy = mass*(3E8 m/s)^2 = mass*9E16 (m/s)^2

mass = Energy / (9E16) kg = (1E15 / 9E16) kg

mass = 1/9E1 kg = 1/90 kg
