Macro is easier .macro covers the economy as a whole. If it is an entry level class it will be fairly simple to understand and follow w/ no background in economics. Its also an interesting class , you may become more interested in economics than you think you are.

Microeconomics Vs Macroeconomics

I am graduating with a BS in Economics and I have to say when it comes to introductory classes Macro is easier. There is not too much math or graphics involved. You also get to tackle interesting issues relating to the world around us such as trade policies and poverty.

However, once I got into the upper division Econ courses, I found Micro to be much easier and straight forward. Macro becomes very subjective and a general pain the in the butt to deal with because the theory behind Macro is still developing and the models associated with Macro actually resemble Micro a whole lot, except they are more debatable.

So for an intro class, I would go with Macro. For higher level classes, I would go with Micro.

It depends what your good at. Macro is more theoretical and more political/public policy related.

Micro generally has more complex graphical models and more math associated with it, but it is less subjective and more absolute.

Either way, if your talking about just an entry level class, neither is goignt o be too hard unless your absolutely attrocious with graphs and charts - because there are a lot of them.

I was an econ major and I personaly like macro more, but I know people who say the oposite. Though if you are just doing it for an elctive, the macro will probably be more interesting because it has relavance to politics, personal investing, and the general economy and sociey.

Since microeconomics studies how individuals make decisions, I would think that would be the most interesting for someone who is nto pursuing economics as a major course of study.

I have not taken any of them yet, but my logic tells me that Macro is easier because you deal in more general terms. Macro is a general governmental view on the educational system, while Micro is a detailed look at schools. so which one do you prefer?

Find out what you enjoy most, if its one or the other, than that should be your choice. The amount of work you put in should be done through creative and enjoyable means, and you wont acheive that if you're doing them because you have to, so to speak.

Micro is easier to understand, but you are actually expected to understand it. Since no one really understand macro, you are not expected to either, so it is easier to fake it.
