I would like to know if (in your opinion, but please have some evidence to back it up) there has ever been a better "pre-ranked" overall hitting lineup than the Tigers have right now.

When I say "pre-ranked" I mean a lineup based on career stats and projections for the upcoming year.

They must be an MLB team (past or present, but they have to be from the modern era: 1900 and later) and NO All-Star teams.

Here is the Tigers hitting lineup (assuming the trade with the Marlins goes through):

Granderson
Polanco
M. Cabrera
Magglio
Sheffield
Guillen
Renteria
Pudge
Inge or J. Jones

Not necessarily in that order, but for the most part they are.

I'd say that lineup is one of the best "pre-ranked" offenses in recent times.

Who do you have as the best? All answers accepted AND bashing of other answers will not be tolerated.

Thanks!

Also, just to clarify.....we are basing these lineups off of OFFENSE only, defense doesn't count....

I think there are several better, but I'll use the 1931 Yankees as my example:

C - Bill Dickey (HOF)
1B - Lou Gehrig (HOF)
2B - Tony Lazzeri (HOF)
SS - Lyn Lary (good young SS at the time)
3B - Joe Sewell (HOF)
OF - Babe Ruth (HOF, still great at 35)
OF - Ben Chapman (coming off a 122-RBI, .315 BA season)
OF - Earle Combs (HOF)

Not bad - six Hall of Famers, and two excellent young players. They scored 1,067 runs that season, too.

a million) Hanley Ramirez SS- Freakish skill/speed mix. Like a better disciplined Alfonso Soriano, better of a center of the lineup hitter yet in an all-enormous call lineup like this can hit leadoff. 2) Ichiro Suzuki RF- He frequently bats leadoff yet he would not draw many walks, and as such can be a prototype #2 hitter. 3) Joe Mauer C- user-friendly call for the area, and perhaps the finished lefty hitter contained in the game. 4) Albert Pujols LF- i might want to have him play left to get Teixeria and Ryan Howard in there, and if I even ought to describe batting him cleanup... 5) Alex Rodriguez 3B- user-friendly call for the area, no longer a lot to argue with. 6) Ryan Howard DH- Dude is a beast... common. 7) Mark Teixeria 1B- perchance the finished hitting 1B contained in the AL and perhaps the finished protecting 1B contained in the MLB, user-friendly call. 8) Robinson Cano 2B- this can be the homer in me, yet Cano can be a correct 3 or 5 2d baseman contained in the MLB. 9) Carlos Beltran CF- This change into not user-friendly, and although i'm no longer the biggest Beltran fan he's a official 5 device participant and IMO between the most underrated protecting gamers contained in the league. He has a lot decision he basically makes it look user-friendly.
