Get over yourself....

You say you're gun shy
I say you're spineless
You think you're pensive
I think you're mindless
Such a busy little drone
That your heart beats in monotones
So loud you can't hear me
Repetition's what you need

Get out of my air, get off my cloud
Get out of my hair, get off of my couch
Get off of my lips, get out of my light
Let me give you a tip, get out of my sight
Get off of your knees, get out of my face
Get out of my sleep, get out of my space
How long do I have to show and tell, scream and yell
Get over yourself

You say you're complicated
I say too dramatic
You think I underrate you
I think I've finally had it
With you never having time
'Cause half the time you spend
Designing brilliant tragedies
And it's becoming your disease

Did you know dear, that the average person is depressed 3 days out of every month? It's true...we all encounter it...we all go through not wanting to live, or live the life we are living, or wondering if the world will end, etc., etc. -Honey, I wish I could reassure you, that sometimes we all feel the way you do...do you believe me? I sure hope so...

One of the things you should do though, is try to eat and exercise regularly, because who knows the source of your feelings? -But what we do know, is that body and mind are connected and not separate...If you need to talk to someone, you should proceed with a counselor or mentor or some adult you trust enough to just talk to about life.

I hope you will heed my advice dear...I fear you may be depressed more than a reasonable level, so if indeed that is the case, you need to find someone to talk to as well as talking online.

The way my Mom always put it when I was depressed, was: "Honey, if you think YOU have a problem, you don't have to look very far to see another much worse off..." She was always right...there was a girl my age in town who was in wheelchair, another who was badly scarred from burns, and another who lost both parents at age 5. So putting life in proper perspective can be of the utmost importance when thinking you are alone and the world stinks.

I also find, when I help someone else, I feel better - about life, about myself...You should try it!

I hope you can overcome these feelings...and find the brighter side of life, I truly do.

Sincerely,

Grace

I had that feeling since Sept 29 2007. My 17 yo son died. Until the other night and my son brought God to me while I was awake. You didn't say if you were going thru a crisis or you always feel this way. Don't ever look at life as your enemy. I didn't. Look at life as opportunities to press forward and put all your negative energy into a positive outcome. Set small goals that you can easily reach and then began to make them a little longer and harder to reach. You have to make yourself proud before you can anyone else. A idle mind is the devils workshop. I am still here and my son is not. If I want to get where I am going in the afterlife I have to stay here stay positive and wait for death to find me. Pray and ask God to fill that emptyness and he will. I pray a new reveilation on your life. Death is not your enemy either.

Everyone feels that way one time or another. With the exception of WW3, the world's not going to end in my lifetime, unless that asteroid isn't deflected, so I'm not worrying about that.
You're not alone. There are people out there who are dying, starving, being born, and loving. Things don't always go right. Life isn't a fairy tale, sometimes I wish it were. I wish everyone could be happy. I wish we didn't need a democracy. But there is music and art. Nature and dreams.

Yes I have. I felt that way quit awhile ago. But you know what. We make life ourselves. If you are feeling that cold and empty inside, take areal good look at what is all around you. Find something where you can make a difference, go for it. What you can or can't do, is not important, its the fact that you tried.
We can't always make the right decisions or the best way of doing something, what is important is that you tried. Its like you have lost something important and your now feeling like the world is your emeny. Pick yourself up, look around you and go for the best possible way of doing something to change that fact.

Yeah...I've been there. I got out of that deep, dark, cold hole of a deathwish by rediscovering my passions (poetry and music), my joys, and my buried hurts. I also reached out to others by joining a support group and a meetup group; and online myspace and Y/A. The key for me was the need to express myself and listen to other people's stories--to learn that I am not alone.

Committing to my spiritual path as a seeker was the deeper stream I had to find in order to hold it all together and find a reason to live.

I hope you find your bliss again and recharge your inner spirit. Hope this helps. This dark night of the soul will pass.

Yes many times, personally I believe it's some form of depression. I started exercising and I hardly felt that way again in a long time.

well i think we all have gotten to the point at some time in our lives where we could care less about what happens but it is important that we dont let that feeling take control of us. we have to keep our heads high and never lose hope or faith that eventually things will get better. good luck.

Just find the things you like in life instead of the things you hate. I know i have felt like that before. Finding a better outlet for your anger is good too.
