I want to start using tampons and I think the only way to feel at ease about using them is by talking to my doctor about them and hearing her opinion. I am really shy when it comes to talking about these sort of things so I was wondering if this would be a good way to word my questions. " If I ask you a question your not going to tell my mom right? Well I was wondering what your opinion on tampons is and if you would recommend them to girls my age?" (14 years old) I want to ask but would it be stupid to ask? Also I am not going to talk to my mother about this, she already said I could start using them. The reason for asking my doctor is so that I am not so nervous.

why do you care if the doctor would tell your mom you wanted to use tampons? They have nothing to do with sex. But anyways, all doctors will recommend them, I promise. You really don't need to ask, its safe and one of the best inventions ever.

Dont be nervous about it. It took me a long time to be able to use them when i first got it. I didn't understand that you need to relax, so relax your muscles, think about peaceful things.. Sometimes different positions help you put it in better, try laying on your back oh lifting a leg up on the toilet if you have trouble getting in.

good luck..and I actually started using tampons when i was 13..

It's not stupid at all! A doctor can give you her opinion and answer any questions you might have.

You may just want to ask
-When is a good time to use them
-If they are necessary
-Are there any risks associated with them
-If they are good for sports
-If they are generally more/less comfortable than pads.

Good luck :)

You can use them, but don't leave them in for a long time. Be sure to get the correct absorbency. Don't be afraid to talk to your doctor, When it comes to periods, there isn't much they haven't heard b4. Good luck.
