Psychic Sleep...we all experience it differently and is dependent on which frequency your brainwave has reached.
It is a very powerful form of meditation.
Next time prior to starting hold a wish in your heart and release it to the universe to the sound of "OM"...It will give the experience a direction to focus on (and it will stop your body from fidgeting).

either the beginning of an OBE ...
OR exactly what you were aiming for ... "mind awake body asleep" ,,, more commonly known as sleep paralysis?
you're not completely awake when you are having thisexperience, this is why most people hallucinate during the experience, the hallucinations can be from any of the five senses.

Am able to look down on myself sometimes, especially if ill?
Can sense and tell if family are in pain or have problem. I freak some people. Get flashes of incidents if I touch someone.
