Flat out: If we don't colonize space, we're doomed.
Our planet won't last forever. If we bury our heads in the sand, one day, either by our own hand, or by some comet or asteroid - we'll be wiped out. For our survival as a species, we *need* to take the steps into space.
Pluto... Eh. It hasn't changed, just our designation of it. If we kept it as a planet, then there's potentially another 50 or 60 of 'em we'll have to learn out there. I say, keep the planets below 10, and name the others we find (and, we'll be finding more) minor or dwarf planets.
The amount of money we spend on space travel, so far, has repaid itself handsomely - in new processes, new industries, and new inventions. People don't seem to realize it, but it's true.
We NEED space travel to develop as a species. Otherwise, Earth will be more crowded, and have less resources, leaving us with an empty shell of a planet and starving people. By learning how to use minimal resources to keep people alive in space, in bases, on other planets, etc - we *might* find a way to feed & shelter the more than 6 *billion* here on Earth.

Pluto should be a planet.
Space travel, and space technology in general, puts food on my family's table, a roof over my family's head (with all the utilities), clothing on my family, etc., because I work for a company that produces stuff for NASA and the major space contractors. So, I am all for spending money on space.

I think Pluto shouldn´t be changed from being a planet because that only caused confusion in the world, specially in schools. Is is good to know about space, because maybe we have to learn to travel through it sooner or later.

We should indeed pursue space exploration not just for research but because it probably can explain us about Universe and so called "GOD" more than anyone can. After all we do need a logical explanation for all that exists around us and since modern physics is unable to do space explorations seems to be the only way to do so.
Money spent is also OK though needs to be prioritized and channeled properly yet has helped mankind more than any other scientific investigation.

Earth is in space, so space is important to those on Earth.
I don't think about what Pluto is called, only what it is.
We spend no money on space travel.
We should begin space travel projects.

yes. we should open the field up to private companies to cut down on cost.....
I think space exportation will teach us more than RELIGION could.
hundreds die because of religious wars, only a few people have died in space exploration.
