No.

Proof: People who cannot procreate do not stop striving for things.

It has even been argued that those who do not spend their time procreating have far more energy to devote to other purposes and are the ones largely responsible for human progress.

For me, not in the least. I strive for personal success and reaching my goals, none of which include making duplicates of myself. Some people say life's focus is to have children. So our whole reason for living is to just procreate and die? And then our kid's reason for living is to procreate and die, and so on and so on... What are we breeding towards?? If that's the case, the only person who really has a purpose is the very last person living on the planet. And then what? That purpose stinks. Thanks, but no thanks.
