Given the latest scandal involving London tax payer's money, I think getting Boris in is a must;

A senior adviser to the Mayor, Ken Livingstone, is under GLA investigation after at least £2.5 million in City Hall money was channelled to organisations controlled by himself, his friends and his business associates.

Lee Jasper, the Mayor's director of equalities and policing, is at the centre of a network of companies which have received large sums of public money from Mr Livingstone while appearing to do little or no work in return.

An Evening Standard investigation has found:

• Hundreds of thousands of pounds of public money paid to the companies is unaccounted for or has disappeared.

• Up to £295,000 is the subject of possible legal action.

• Some of the companies are dormant or have gone out of business.

• Several of the organisations are based in the same small room at a business centre in Kennington.

• The same people, friends or business associates of Mr Jasper - including race activist Errol Walters and businesswoman and reality TV show star Yvonne Thompson - appear as directors or staff members of each organisation.

He could be a lot worse. Ken Livingstone's policies have focused on transport. On the positive side the congestion charge has reduced road congestion in central London and provided more funding for public transport; bus services have increased and improved, creating a record high ridership. Construction of a new rail link from Croydon to Highbury in North London via the City, has commemced. On the negative side Livingstone has wasted money giving too many sections of the population free travel while the low waged travelling to work at peak time, have endured steep fare rises.
He has failed to tackle the unreliabilty of much of the Underground's infrastructure or even begin to instigate the building of several new Underground lines that are vital to an expanding
London. Before Livingstone was elected as Mayor of London
8 years ago the transport system in London had for most of the previous 20 years been under the control of Conservative
(Boris Johnson's party) local or central government. Maintenance and investment in the the Underground had been minimal and the bus services badly run leading to ridership decline; annual fare rises were even steeper than under Livingstone; the basis of Conservative policy is always to reduce the cost of operating public services and in doing so to effect their decline. (I am not intending to vote for either candidate).

What...the St. Etienne sort, or the ones that scare the life out of my cat at the foot of the garden? But seriously...it seems Ken, Boris or anyone else who wants to be 'the mayor' will not warm the hearts of Londoners, as it seems they (inhabitants) want a London as it was thirty or so years ago. Lived in London whilst growing up - 1972-79, and it seemed better then - but does not anywhere when you're a bairn?
Thingy...are you really Robert, my eldest brother? How's Köln?

I like Ken and will be voting for him next election! He's done a good job as far as I'm concerned. London has a very good bus, tube, and train system. I think it's a lot better than other parts of the country. The congestion charge isn't about congestion, but it's still a good way to raise money! There are lots of free cultural events which are interesting. Cycle routes everywhere. I could go on. Taxi drivers don't like him because of the c-charge. But these HYPOCRITES have been ripping passengers off for decades!!! Most people who don't like him either don't live in London, are Tories, or are brainwashed by the Daily Mail/Evening Standard!

I'll be voting for Boris. I don't think he's mad at all, I think it's an act he plays on for TV. I actually think he's a very intelligent man.

The trouble is, when you put a charming but dim person in charge, it will attract a swarm of power-hungry "advisers" . So, you may think you are electing Boris. But who are you really going to put into power?
