What type of video files are the videos in iTunes?

iTunes will only play MPEG-4, which is also known as mp4, form.

If you need to convert files to mp4, I suggest http://www.zamzar.com , for files up to 100 MB. Videos from YouTube are usually 7 MB, but of course it depends on how long it is!

If you need to convert files that are over 100 MB (like movies), then you'll have to download something. I suggest http://freez-ipod-video-converter.en.softonic.com/ - it's free, safe, and easy to use.
