Meaning and purpose are really the same thing. It's just that we use the word "meaning" to refer to actions and we use the word "purpose" to refer to things/objects.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
So if we reject God, we need to realize that we live a meaningless existence and we can't do anything about it. Without God, all of our invented meanings are just self delusions, designed to make ourselves feel good.
If we don't reject God, then "how can I find God" is a far more important question than "what is the meaning of life" because to find God answers all questions.

A children's song says:
Heaven's for earth.
Earth's for man,
Man's for God,
And that's what I am.
We were created to be for God, the creator.
