good point, no it doesnt make sense, and i dont think you can play with "part, or kinda", either we have free will and thus are responsible, or we dont and are not responsible
one cant say they dont have free will, yet they are responsible for doing certain things within that context of not being free,

if there isnt free will, it simply means we dont control our actions, if we dont control our own actions, we cant be held responsible for them. We would have no sense of responsibility because we just dont have any other choice in what we do. Responsibility wouldnt exist.

Love the question, it makes you think.

It really doesn't!! I suppose responsibility is just a gut feeling then. Not something you do out of free will, but because it has been instilled in you and is second nature

On the other hand, if there is complete free will, can you accept total responsibility?

It depends on your definiton of responsibility. I most certainly believe we have free will, and with it we have a responsibilty. A responsibility to ourselves to be the best we can be, to learn, to grow, to treat others with compassion, to fulfill our purpose here. We are not responsible for anyone else, not their wellbeing (our children being the exception of course), not their spirituality, not their livelihood, nothing. Each of us is our own person, responsible to ourselves and to God.

Logic:
If; then no.
But the "if" does not correspond with existential reality, so therefore responsibility does indeed make sense.

I'm not sure on the implication. Are you saying that if we have no free will, life is predestined by mysterious forces beyond our control.

If someone is hypnotised, do they have control over their actions?

Responsibility is just a nice short word for doing-something- so-you-won't-get-in-trouble, or be punished.

if there is no free will then nothing makes sense

we really dont have free will. our actions are controlled by our beliefs and we can not control our beliefs. they come from our brains. our brains indirectly affect our actions.
