No we would all walking around scratching our heads with both hands. Or maybe we would be employed by smaller buisnesses. Because there was more competition employers would have better compensation packages to lure the best and bightest. They would be competing for the consumer offering better products, service and prices. Oh I think we have already been there. Sorry capitilism wins again.

I am not a democrat, or a socialist, but I believe your oversimplifying the issue. Corporations are allowed to incorporate so as not to be held liable personally for failure and to allow enough capital to be amassed for large, efficient ventures. The price society demanded for allowing this was that the corporations benifit the communities and the nation they are in. Corporate America has not met this criteria, and is falling farther and farther behind on this responsibility all the time. They lie, cheat, and steal from us constantly, usually citing the fact that what they are doing is LEGAL, while failing to admit that it is only as a result of lobbying and flat out illegal payoffs that the laws favor them. Furthermore, when corporate America is caught breaking the law, they are not held responsible to any meaningful extent, because a corporation is not a person, it can not be held personally responsible. Occasionally a corporation will throw one of their own under the bus, but only a minor player who no doubt gets a fat payoff for taking the fall. I am sick to death of people defending big business in the name of jobs and money when corporate profits are at an all time high and our standard of living is falling fast.

No, few would have paying jobs.
Actually, I am a misplaced new home salesperson and former construction manager. The last few years have been lean and mean and I have struggled to make many changes in my life based upon the market.
Who do I blame? No one. Life is not meant to be easy and the greatest lesson to be learned is to roll with times and garner as little resentment over fate as possible. :o)

How many times can you say you have depended upon a poor or unsuccessful person to write your paycheck and have the money in the account when you cash it? As for corporations, how long are the unsuccessful ones able to write your pay checks?
I personally have never worked for a poor person.... meaning in the capacity they pay me to perform work/a job. I have nothing against poor people either, I continually work every day to get beyond my own poorness and I depend on my pay from those who are successful, hoping one day, I might also be successful enough to be able to pay people to work for me.

Love your question! Me being on the bottom of the ladder am grateful for corporations. If it were not for them I would not have the tools provided for me so that I can feed myself and my family. If it were not for corporations I would be running in the woods and making spears or boats and chasing down deer in order to eat at night. If it were not for corporations I would not be watching TVs, listening to radios. I don't believe in warring with the classes.

No...I'm self employed, but we market ourselves to corporate travel and retail. Retail has declined, but without our corporate clients we would be sunk.
Anne - Do you use art supplies? Or do you use mashed berries and slate to create your works? If you answered yes to art supplies, then you get them from corporations. Without them, you would not have a job. Please look beyond the nose on your face.

Tried working for a big corporation once. Since I think for myself it wasn't a very good situation. I work for non-profits now. Not ideal but they don't try to squash being an individual.

Oh GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!
whoelse blames Bush for his losing his job?
Maybe he should consider the fact that he may live in a weak job market and should move, OR, based on his comments, he's probably to stupid to hire in the first place, thats why he lost his job and prospective employers recognize it as well.

Yes! Democrats are really great at making jobs, making tons of money (legal or illegally) and humping celebrities so they can gain financial support for now and in their future... And they gain a free sounding block for protection.
Oh wait, the Bush administration has made more jobs than our country knows what to do with.
AND the average salary is ABOVE minimum wage! Unlike jobs created by demoncats.

Yes, I would. I don't need a corporation to make art and music or teach art and music. You go into it because you love it, not because you think you are going to get rich off it. Not all of life is about making money. As a matter of fact, the best parts of life have nothing to do with money. And some of us still have integrity and can't be bought. It's just that people's minds have been skewed. Thinking that it is necessary to be dependent on corporations is a very dangerous mentality on so many levels. If you believe in freedom, then start freeing your own mind from this kind of dependence.
