Don't do it. Doctors advise against it. Let the baby come when he or she is ready.

dont do it im not sure if it will hurt the baby and i dont think the doctors can tell you did it. But it's real painful and it doesnt always work so you went though all that and the baby still anit close to coming there alot of side effects you should look up, and if it does work it will happen real fast. I say try sex and walking the baby will come when he or she wants to if you try to rush him you will have to pay for it. i wish you well and know what you'll getting in to if u type castor oil and labor some stuff should come up i say do the research 1st it's not a pretty picture.

Yes, it can hurt the baby. It will cause horrible diarrhea in you and anything you ingest goes to the baby. Babies can also get the diarrhea and if a baby has a bowel movement in the womb they can get it in their lungs and cause pneumonia or worse. Also you know how bad your stomach hurts when you have diarrhea, do you want your baby to have that same pain?
Also, if the castor oil does cause you to go into labor (which isn't likely) then yes the doctor will be able to tell because you will be pooping everywhere.
Please don't endanger your child.

Castor oil isn't nicely actual worth the possibility. I paintings as a L&D nurse, and have considered a techniques too many mothers who foolishly use castor oil without surgeon supervision (or popularity of that remember), finally end up with severe diarrhea, vomiting, maximum appropriate to dehydration, and in particularly some circumstances the toddler has become under pressure as a consequence and exceeded meconium into the amniotic fluid - making for a severe-risk transport. to those women who declare to have used it and effectively went into exertions - you could't say for specific that exertions would not have all started on this is very own without taking the castor oil. ;) in my view, intercourse and walking and squatting are the only risk-free issues that a individual can do to "attempt" to bypass issues alongside - no longer something is a hundred% certain. And by way of taking any drugs to bring about (which includes castor oil) without surgeon supervision is merely irresponsible and not nicely actual worth the hazards. talk on your surgeon approximately your desire to have your baby on a similar time as you mom is on the city. possibly they'll % to bring about you, effectively, below the supervision of your surgeon. additionally ask them approximately their ideas on castor oil inductions - do no longer in basic terms pay attention to human beings on the cyber web! :) stable success, and congrats in develop.

This is almost as bad an idea as an alleyway abortion.

You can talk to your doctor about inducing labor if you want to have the baby that bad. They can also assess if the baby is healthy enough for it.

Rule of Thumb: Dont drink things that are made for cars.

No, and no. The only thing you will accomplish is having awsome bowel movements. I say this from experince. I went thru two bottles trying to get my first kid out. It tastes horrible, and it dosen't accomplish too much if unless you're constipated.
The OB did tell me that it didn't have any side effects to it besides sitting a lot on the porcelin throne. He wasn't kidding!*LOL*
I didn't get the runs though, and my stomach pain was no more than usual. Walking does help wear down the membrane though, and sex is supposed to help, but I didn't notice it making that much of a differance, with either kid.

hmm, nope its not bad, all it does is make you have to go number 2 really bad like your stomache hurts, and before you go into labor thats what sometimes happens too. I dont think their is any way for your doctor to see that you have used castor oil. also my midwife told me not to do it unless you are ready! like real close to your due date, because it wont be worth it

It won't hurt the baby, but (1) it doesn't work, (2) it tastes vile and (3) it will give you diarrhea

So why would you want to do it?

Try nipple stimulation instead - that DOES work! and probably your partner would like to help! lol

Castro oil is what you put in your engine in your car. Castor oil doesn't work for inducing labor, it just gives you diarrhea.
