regulations which you are going to be able to desire to renowned: log(a)+log(b)=log(a*b) 10^(log(a))=a. log(x+3)+log(x)=a million log((x+3)*x)=a million log(x^2+3x)=a million 10^(log(x^2+3x))=10^a million x^2+3x=10 x^2+3x-10=0 (x+5)(x-2)=0 x=-5 or x=2. in view which you won't be in a position to take the log of a unfavorable type then x=-5 is an extranneous answer. the only answer to this equation is x=2.

What is log_1/2(x) = 3?

You must change your log equation to an exponential form.

The fraction 1/2 becomes our base.

3 becomes our exponent.

x is isolated on one side of the equation.

We now have this:

x = (1/2)^3

The fraction 1/2 is multiplied by itself 3 times.

x = (1/2) times (1/2) times (1/2)

x = 1/8

Done!
