It seems to be a pointless activity, all those gas guzzlers going around in a circle. I just read an article that the NASCARs run on leaded gasoline and each car puts 100-200 lbs of pollution in the air each race. NASCAR friviously burns through a precious resource and puts toxic chemicals in the air, how can we be serious about the environment and allow this so called sport to continue. At least put some EPA regulations on the cars. It would be funny to see them race in Toyota Prius.

Personally I am not a NASCAR fan. I do not see any purpose in it. It seems to me they are simply wasting gas, tires, and encourageing reckless driving by many of their fans. No wonder half the people driving down the road can't drive. I have places to go but it does'nt mean I have to be the in record time. So I say ban the useless sport. If it helps in any small way with this supposed gobal warming that a added benifit.

While we're at it, let's outlaw the NFL and Major League Baseball. Think about how much pollution is generated by fans going to and from the game! That must be many times the pollution that NASCAR generates! And let's ban the NHL too. How much energy does it take to keep an ice hockey rink frozen?
Then, we can outlaw college football! Or maybe just Notre Dame. The way they played this season should be a crime.

But seriously, folks...Instead of whining about banning NASCAR, how about getting serious about RECYCLING? You can save all kinds of greenhouse gas emissions just by recycling your trash where possible. Nothing spins me up faster than seeing large quantities of newspaper or plastic containers in the trash WHEN THE FREAKING RECYCLE BIN IS TWO FEET AWAY!

Given the fact that there are 500, 000, 000 cars in the world, NASCAR doesn't count for anything in terms of pollution.
What we need to make illegal is having more than one child.
