Are taxi's rides expensive ?

I am going to Memphis,TN on January 26 and need a taxi ride from the Memphis International airport to a already booked hotel room, which is 2 miles from the airport.. Approximately how much will the fare be ? I've never rode a taxi. Any clues?

one says to go to hp cab. what is this? and isn't 20-30 dollars round trip for 4 miles very expensive ?

"Expensive" is a relative term. It depends on what you consider "expensive". How rich are you?
