I Wrote a check to my landlord for rent and had some unexpected expenses pop up I had to use some of the money from my checking account for. So Long story short I don't enough money in my account to cover the check, I have some of it but not all. I called the bank and asked if they would cover it(pay it ) and just charge me a fee or would they sent it back (bounce It) there response was very cloudy They said they are not required to pay it but may as a courtesy. So I don't know what will happen and am going crazy. Does anybody have any experience with this? My bank is bank of america.

They may or may not cover it. It really depends on how many bounced checks you have on a regular basis?
My bank covers mine when they happen, but that could be cause I don't have them very often and plus I live in a very small town of 1200 people where everyone knows everyone.
I have a friend that bounces checks all the time at this same bank and they don't cover anything for her.
Good Luck!
I hope they cover it for you. Nothing worse then having a bad check bounce and having to pay the fees on it, let alone explain it!

If you have overdraft protection on your account, they'll cover it if it's within the rules of the overdraft protection. If the check is for $500 and your account has $498 in it and you don't have a history of bouncing checks, they might cover it.

Otherwise they'll most likely bounce it.

Once you write a check against your account, you need to consider that money as already gone, and not available even for emergencies.

My suggestion is to put money in the bank to cover the check and stop writing checks you don't have money for! These bounced check fees are murder and will put you in the poor house quicker than anything you will ever buy!
