first time i went to church on a Christmas day was while i was in India, no one celebrated was just another day, people going about their business like any other day. was feeling like inside me i needed to do something to show my love to god. my family were far. no one to give presents too. so i went to church and lit candles for my family. that Christmas was more holy to me. because money didn't come into it, like all this spend spend. that we have here. so this memory i will always treasure. but on the down side, it has made me realise what a farce Christmas is.so this year i am giving presents to my close family. and i am going back to India, Goa this time. which i know celebrate Christmas, but they give sweets, not this , lets get our selves into debt. and worry about it for the rest of the year paying it off. and its for just one day, not nearly 2 weeks celebration. so really speaking. yes i will celebrate Christmas, but in my way, church in the morning. beach in the afternoon. and thanking god for his kindness to allow me to do this.

Halloween isn't the Devils day. initially it replace into talked approximately as Samhain, the Celtic New twelve months. frequently talked approximately as The Day of the lifeless it replace into believed that this international and the subsequent have been very close on that day and individuals might rejoice their ancestors and go away foodstuff for wandering spirits on the roadside. It replace right into a time of magic and this has filtered down into cutting-edge lifestyle as ghosts, witches etc. Being a Pagan competition it had no longer something in any respect to do with the devil, as this is a Christian element. The call of Halloween is derived from All Hallows Eve which precedes All Saints day - a Christian competition. Christmas too is initially Pagan - talked approximately as yuletide. The Romans celebrated their very own version right this moment - Saturnalia. So neither competition is Christian in any respect. in case you do unlike Samhain then this is high quality, it is your selection. i like it however. by using the way, Easter replace right into a Pagan competition too and could Day replace into Beltane, so that's recommended to stay away from those to boot.

The Traditional American way. Get drunk on Christmas Eve. Get up in the morning, have breakfast, open presents, start cooking the Christmas meal. After eating the Christmas meal set around drinking and socializing.

I give presents to relatives only. Don't have any decorations/tree and don't eat any Christmas food (turkey/pudding etc), I don't watch any of the TV and don't go visiting.
It's not that I don't like Christmas, I just hate the total overkill that people go for and I'm not religious. Just looking forward to a few days RnR.

I don't celebrate Christmas as I my heart broken with the woman that I thought I loved. She stole over £15,000 out of my bank account, slept with my best mate and on top of all that had the cheek to tell my parents that she was pregnant with MY baby!!??

I don't celebrate it. For me it is a disgusting display of greed and stupidity.
I am forced by conventions like not being able to work on Dec 25th....but otherwise I resist it with all my will!
Before the bigots start....I also do not celebrate any other religious festivals for the same reason...though Christmas is the worst piece of crap of them all.
