It's your choice but the police can get a bit upset about it and could possibly prosecute you for obstruction of an officer.

No, it's not wrong. It's a good thing when drivers do not speed. If they slow down because you flash them, then all the better. Even the police should agree with that, because their ultimate goal is public safety. Writing tickets is only one means to that end. If people slow down on their own or because they get a ticket or because they are warned by others, the end result is the same - slower and safer driving.

I stay in the united kingdom and there has been somewhat some debate approximately this. the fee cameras are particularly uncomplicated technologies. basically then deliver a laser pulse on the vehicle and by using measuring the replace in frequency then can see how briskly the vehicle is going (Doppler Shift). whether, they could purely degree the fee rapidly on (or away). basically this is the relative velocity of the vehicle from the observer. If the fee digital camera hit the component to the vehicle, it may desire to no longer choose its velocity because it could be shifting perpendicularly to the digital camera. If the vehicle replace into shifting at an perspective to the observer, then the fee they degree might purely be a share of the vehicle's velocity. subsequently velocity cameras are protruding or sited on bends as in any different case they won't seize speeders. The digital camera then takes a image of the vehicle (it additionally takes a image of the rear this is a disgrace when you consider that I force a bike) and the image is analysed and a letter rapidly generated to propose you which you have been caught dashing. whether, they could desire to % out who's driving so if the image isn't sparkling sufficient, the owner has to assert who replace into in the back of the wheel (there have been criminal annoying circumstances yet they have been disregarded). There are a sparkling form of velocity digital camera which measures the conventional velocity. They take a image of each vehicle getting into and leaving a stretch of street and artwork out its favourite velocity. whether that's purely too speedy, then you definately are fined and function factors extra on your licence.

It is your DUTY to flash other motorists.

However, my dad did this in the middle of the day and the cop noticed my dads taillights flip on and off and the cop pulled my dad over and gave him a ticket similar to ubstructing justice!

Fixed one I don't flash unless they are racing towards it, people should know where it is.

Mobile one I do flash and do the thumbs down signal.

In the UK it is illegal to do it, but I will keep doing it.

Not sure what you mean by speed camera. If you are referring to the ones that display you're actual speed, then what you are doing is useless. they don't report, or take photos.

If you are referring to ones, if they exist, that take your picture and report you, or if it's a radar type manned by the Po-po, then what you are doing is illegal. You are interfereing with police activity.
