I worked in a restaraunt in NYC for 7 years and I know how challenging bartending can be.
You should be fine. Some thing to be careful of however, when i comes to bartending.
1) If smoking is allowed....you seriously may want to rethink the job. But most places ban it from indoors anyways, so this may not be an issue.
2) Those heavy jugs of stuff....ice...whatever...do not lift if it is over 25 pounds.
3) Your feet...even though your probably stepping on rubber mats back there...i would invest in some dang good shoes. Bet on your feet getting bigger too.
4) Have an understanding with management, that if you need a breather, you need it...no questions asked. This will become very important come....6 months or so.
5) You must must must invest in some Surgical Stockings....support stockings....the protects your legs form swelling, edema, pain, and vericose veins, during pregnancy. They are a lifesaver if you are on your feet a lot.
Best of Luck to You.

If the bar is very smoky then it is not a good idea for her to be in there that much. If it is a non-smoking restaurant then she should be ok. She might get tired from being on her feet, and may experience some leg or back pain but if she takes on short shifts she should be all right at least until the last couple of months.

Sure just don't get bumped into alot and don't drink any alcohol, that is like asking is it safe to stand up while pregnant. Use common sense if is a rough bar and you are a waitress then no of course not if is a bar where you are behind bar by yourself or one or 2 other people then certainly.

As long as she isn't drinking what she serves, there should be no problems. The job does require a lot of on-your-feet time, which could give you a back ache or sore feet, so the last trimester might be a bit uncomfortable.
My daughter-in-law tended bar the whole time she was pregnant with no ill effects.

Yes, of course. As long as it doesn't cause too much stress, you don't bump your stomach, and you don't drink what you serve, there's no reason a pregnant bartender would have any problems. Also probably wouldn't hurt for tips.

Yes, but the smoke may be a little to much to handle & standing on your feet might get rough in the end!

I suppose as long as your not drinking or in a room full of smoke..But really a pregnant woman shouldn't have to bartend, that's just my opinion..

Only if it is a smoke-free bar and you they don't drink.
Both are very harmful to unborn baby.
Plus you don't mind being a mommy to be in a pick up joint where people lose their minds while you push America's last legal rec drug.

Congrats! It is safe unless you are around second hand smoke or take a drink of alcohol.
