on her withdrawal day, the day this student decides that it is her last day and is. Why would a professor still feel a little uncomfortable even after he said he would a week before.
Is it because he thinks my friends and I are close enough for me to share any insight between him and I.
He said to keep it on the "down low" or secret .
This professor said he wanted a relationship with me but only after I graduate or no longer attend the college.
He always made it clear to me that he could get into deep trouble if I exposed the conversations we would share.
We had something going on but no physical contact.
He was very shy and quiet, 27 years old.
But with me he was pretty open and relaxed, but still
a little reserved.

So why would he feel uncomfortable giving out his number... if let's say HE really did like this girl and she really liked him
(over 18) ?

he is single and not married

In most school systems, teachers can be fired for schtupping students, even if they are not in the same classes.

He is quite rightly fearful of giving her ANY information that can prove that their relationship is more than just teacher/student.

The following represent some very real possibilties

(a) He realized he could easily lose his job over what is highly likely only a "fling" (or potential fling) if the relationship went sour and you decided to make it appear as though the dating began while you were still his student

(b) He finally figured out that dating teenagers is not appropriate for 27 year old men

(c) He is already dating someone else

(d) He is no longer attracted to you b/c you're no longer considered "taboo" (no longer a student, therefore no longer a challenge)

um, because just the fact that you withdrew from his class for an exchange of his number (which I'm sure he'd have rather had you graduate than withdrawal) can place him before the board and possibly cost him his job.

don't be surprised if he's not comfortable being seen in public with you for at least 3-6 months... if he were to get fired or even reprimanded because of this it will be on his record for life and it will be difficult for him to ever teach at a university again.... so you have nothing to lose.... he has EVERYTHING he has worked for to lose.

He wants it on the down low because he knows dating students is not proper. You're in college -- tons of guys there. Avoid getting mixed up with an unethical professor.
