Of course he is not the best drummer and I'm sure Rick would readily admit that himself. Yes he plays with one arm and that is very admirable, but when you really look at how he does it though you realize it really isn't as amazing as it seems at first. Not taking anything away from Rick, he is a great drummer. Basically if you know anything about playing drums you know that the left foot does very little (if you aren't a double bass drummer which he is not) except operate the hi-hat. What Rick did was use two hi-hats, one closed tight for a crisp sound and the other loose for the trashy sound. That freed up his left foot completely. Since he uses electronic drums, or triggers on an acoustic set, he can make a pedal trigger sound the same as any drum in his setup by using the same sample on both. So basically he has a pedal that sounds just like his snare, another that sounds like his first tom, and so on. All of these pedals are on the left side of the kit and he just does the same thing with his left foot that he used to do with his left arm. When doing a roll he is alternating between his right arm and left leg instead of right arm and left arm. That may sound hard at first but it is an exercise that many instructors have their students do. For those that don't already know he lost his arm when he flipped his Corvette convertible.

Hmm... sturdy question. probable the single-armed drummer from Def Leppard because of the fact being lifeless might completely cramp my style. Plus i might completely get a type of way-cool (i'm not utilising uber) British flag clothing.
