Sounds like an LP. Those were played on phonographs using a needle to create sound vibrations.

Does it look a music record? Does it have a label? A small hole in the middle? Narrow grooves on each side? Could be a 78 rpm record. They were about 12 inches. Also 33-1/3. Not sure which was closer to 12-inches across.

12 inch singles were all the rage in the 80's and 90's.
An LP would have a larger diameter than that.

Does it have concentric grooves? It is probably an old 33 1/3 rpm album. Don't expect it to play, though.

If it has a hole in the center and grooves on it it's an album from the 80's-prior.
