My boyfriend and I are 26 and taking a January Carnival cruise to the Mexican Riviera, but we don't want to spend a lot of money on the ship's shore excursions, any ideas on fun things to do that are free or are worth the expense? We're in Puerto Vallarta from 8am to 10pm, Mazatlan 9am to 6pm, and Cabo 7am to 4pm, which seems short...

Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" at the top of the page, then go to "Ports of Call" and look up your ports there. You'll find lots of helpful info from past cruisers and if you don't see the info you need, you can post a question.

Have fun!!

dont do ship excursions,

just decide what you want to do and barter with the
vendors that will be on the pier awaiting the sightseers

it'll cost half as much and these people meet every cruise ship
and are reliable and put some extra zest into the activities

I agree with RC, don´t book the ships tours.. they are expensive and boring. Mexican people are nice.. just bargain the price before hand and also ask several taxi drivers.. until you get the best fare.
