While I do not agree with what you are saying per se, I see where you are coming from. Places like Nashville,Phoenix,Sunrise, and a few others are like deadbeat parents that abuse their kids or do not support them. The NHL (Children's Aid Society) should force those teams into relinquish their rights and move them elsewhere. However there are 3 exceptions to the no snow rule. Tampa Bay, Dallas and DC.(they get snow but nothing that ever amounts to much). They have demonstrated that their respective towns can and will support hockey.

OK . You people whom don't think Southern states deserve team are complete idiots. I am a Panther fan. We are in the middle of attendance figures and the team is doing well financially. They are also playing decent of late. I live hockey. that is why I also play hockey. There are more fans down here than you realize. So #1 shut it #2 get over it and #3 Anyone who keeps bring this up deserves to have their favorite team dismantled. Or if it is already gone then it stays gone even longer. This is another dead horse issue.

You have issues! LOL - I'm in Ohio and we have snow, it's not up to our elbows yet, thank goodness. That would be like asking why we have volleyball teams, since we don't have an ocean? We have a Great Lake and plenty of beaches (ie other options for playing). Stop being silly and go finish your Christmas shopping already. LOL ;}

Hmmmm........sounds like you are either a Calgary Flamers fan or a Buffalo Fables I mean Sabres fan.

Don't be upset just because your team has gotten off to a slow start. And don't blame it on the teams that can actually feel their faces when they go outdoors in December.

We aren't mad at you up north for having basketball teams in toronto or New Jersey. And since they are both played indoors, what does it matter what the weather is like outside.

Hockey fans are everywhere, I live in Fresno, CA and I live and breathe hockey. Just because my spit doesn't freeze before it hits the ground doesn't make me any less deserving to watch my Sharks.

P.S. Have a little faith in your team, anything can happen in the second half of the season.

Why are countries that never see snow allowed to compete in the Winter Olympics (and some like Australia win medals)?

Why shouldn't they be? Teams like Tampa, Dallas, San Jose, are all great for the NHL.

Since they don't play outdoors, there is no reason why they shouldn't have hockey teams in the south.

that's good answer i believe that a lot of the states shouldn't have teams, clearly lot of places don't have the same passion that canadians do and should keep the game in more passionate cities, and bring back the jets, a team that is very deserving of a second chance.
