I was on the computer and someone I didn't know instant messaged me. It was a 13 year old girl who saw a comment I made on another website. She told me she agreed with what I said and just seemed like she wanted to chat for a bit. I'm only 18, but I understand the value of experience and I respect older people. This 13 year old made claims like, I am smart, I'm not like everyone else, I'm advanced, I'm mature for my age. Does anyone else hate hearing the cry of "I'm special!!!!!" without seeing any proof? I would just like to see other people's opinions. I'm not saying that all younger people are dumb or anything of that sort. But basically I think that if you say something, you've got to back it up, or else it has no meaning.
there is a lot of other disturbing things that she was saying like how she likes older men and would date a MAN as old as 47. What self respecting man would date a 13 year old. come on. really. after about 21 or so, i agree that perhaps "age ain't nothin but a #"

It's a phase that all kids go through (especially teenagers). They think they're much smarter/worldly than their teachers and parents, they can do it 10 times better than someone else, they don't need to live at home, blah blah blah. Just like eeeeeeeveryone else who becomes an adult, they look back on their years of being a teenager, have kids of their own, and think, "WHY didn't I listen to my mom??"

This whole 13 year old dating a 47 year old scenario is disgusting. THIS is why parents need to limit their childrens' time on the internet, and use a filter. That's sickening.

That was probably not a real 13 year old. Why would she tell you she was into older guys? I don't know.
But to answer you question I think its hard to measure someone else experiences. I do agree with you they should be able to back it up.
