they only have fans when they win the world series
like a few years ago when they won the whole thing and magically had their fan base multiply by 7923423423 times

I, for one, am a fan, and I know exactly what they're doing.... because I've seen it before.
They have the smallest buget of any team in the MLB, and they don't have the option of bulking up their roster to make a playoff run.... so they buy up cheap prospects, and develop THEM into world series teams.
When they make people stand up and take notice of their players, they sell them off and get more prospects to repeat the process.
The Marlins DO have a history to be proud of... they've won TWO world series in ten years (including humiliating the YANKEES). How many teams can claim to have done period, much less in their FIRST ten years?

They have some fans. Not many though. With the Cabrera deal and young talent they received in return, they are now lined up to win their 3rd World Series, probably in 2010 or 2011 and then do another sell off per usual.

I live in Florida. They do, but no one goes to a baseball game in a football stadium with blistering heat.
The Florida Marlins organization is a joke. Beinfest is a great GM, but Loria is just as cheap as Carl Pohlad.

Your just scared because your Yankees team did not get the trade and the tigers will beat the yankees like they did in 2006 playoffs, except it will be a blow out! hehehehe!

It all depends on the new stadium. If they can get one in 2 or 3 years, they can increase their payroll and go for it. They've been loading up on young talent, so they just have a few more missing pieces to the puzzle.
They're in a holding pattern all due to the uncertainty surrounding their possible new stadium.

I picture Marlins fans to be a cut out from the movie Scarface. All of them dressed in their flashy suits, gold chains, slick hair, top three dress buttons un-buttoned, driving fancy sports cars dancing to 80's music.
