Then 13utman, why have you troubled to answer the question at all?
And if you were to define your last statement, in which category would you place it, if not in the former three. If you are a top contributor, what calibre of contributions have you made?
In mockery or sarcasm, perhaps. Or is it that to you, all virtues are but a joke?

not so good with words so here i go!
compassion - the state prior to empathy! to help one ease the pain and suffering an action to help someone!
I have compassion to those with there hand full so I will open the door for them! i also have compasion for the overworked there for i will over to help and take the lead. I have done both of these and they are not the best example

Empathy - to feel the emotions of another human - this is not an action it's something someone feels - seeing someone who crys or watching someone stand out side of their home and watching it burn - just the thought makes me have empathy for them it hurt i feel it inside twisting my heart!
the one thing that confuses me is you don't preseive the same as i do so how do i truely have empathy for someone isn't a selfish thought of how i would respond?

Sympathy - understanding what one could be going through - you may not be able to connect with the sadness of someones house burning down but you understand that its not pleasurable -- there for sympathy is a less intense version of empathy!

really hope this helps you!
and Thanks for the compassion! weather you know it or not! i have a hard time with words and this made me look each one up and then i talked about it in my words!
you just taught me and helped me learn!
Priceless THANKS!

Compassion is compassion.
Empathy is empathy.
Sympathy is sympathy.
This is why we have three different words. And that statement is neither compassionate, sympathetic, or empathetic.
