Well near the end of school today,it felt like I'd gotten my period or something and a lot of blood had came out, (i've already had my period for maybe half a year?) and i went to the bathroom to check,my underwear were practically stuck to me and I had to pull them off which hurt a little bit. There was SO much blood, soaked through my underwear, even though I obviously just started it today and there never is that much in about 15 minutes of time. Then I didn't have a pad so I used toilet paper, when I was home I checked and again there was a ton of blood and it was really thick and gooey.I'm kind of scared.I dont know what it would be,I'm only 12 havent had sex or anything so its not like a disease from that. What is it?I mean it was just a lot of blood and I dont know why it was so thick and gooey like that by the time I check it half solid whats wrong with me???
And im too afraid to go to the dr (my mom would make me if I told her)i like have a fear of drs,so please dont tell me to go

At this age your period is still pretty irregular. Don't worry. Just put on a pad and change it more often than you normally do.

My first few periods were a walk in the park. Then after having them for a few months I got hit with the heavy ones. It may just be what is going to be a normal cycle for you from now on. It may look like a lot of blood, but you won't bleed to death. Maybe you could start using tampons on your heavy days with pads to back them up. Usually you will only have 1-2 days of heavy bleeding then it lightens up.

The reason the blood is thick and not so runny is because it contains more than just blood, its your endometrial lining, which has tissues and clots in it as well.

Just tell your mom that your periods are getting heavier. You only need to be concerned and tell her any more than that if you soak completely through one pad an hour for more than 4 hours. If that is the case, you do need to see a doctor, scared or not. Good luck to you!

It may be nothing more than heavy bloodclots, (heavy pieces of your uterus lining) which is very normal at the beginning of a period. For your piece of my mind go to: www.webmd.com and go through the symptom checker. It will explain everything to you and tell you whether you can treat yourself or need a doctor visit. I think the information there will give you peace of mind! Best of luck!!!
