My opinion on that statement is that it is BS! Media absolutely has an affect on how we perceive beauty! Who do we compare ourselves to? Celebrities. What is beauty? Turn on the television and you'll get an idea.
I believe that women who aren't as beautiful are prejudiced every single day! Beautiful people have the world bending over backwards for them. A new girl in my company uses her beauty pageant past as a selling point and is one of the top employees in the company! Beautiful people are hired more frequently, receive better pay, as treated more respectfully by others. Think about it, when you go to the bar with your girls, who gets the free drinks? The sweet one or the hot one? I have seen studies on shows such as 20/20 where two teachers read to students and the plainer looking one was deemed by the students as being less intelligent and interesting. A girl I work with is pretty but has not a damn thing for brains but has people bending over backwards for her.
I think the two girls are pretty for different reasons. #1 has the "ideal body," a pretty smile and is wearing a nice outfit. However, her hair color is obviously fake, which gets to me a little. The second girl looks like she's wearing too much makeup but her hair color looks nice and natural. She's curvier (bigger) which would naturally make people say she's not as pretty but what gets me about her is she looks overdone. Too much makeup, fan in the hair etc.

Girl number 2 is the one i would pick
1 because she is a bigger girl and she looks as though it does not bother her
2 because she holds herself well and her pose makes the picture
3 she has a very beatiful face
I think that the women who are more heavy and maybe not as pretty are looked upon as not as good
but what people dont understand is that looks dont classify us it is what is inside of us that classifys us

will go with girl one because the other looks like she weighs more then we do and that messes with us
