I broke my arm once too, and needed to get into shape. After you get the doctor's approval start doing some running on the treadmill, and then increase your workout to some basic hand exercises. If your hand still isn't ready do basic leg exercises for endurance.

I am sure that this question is for your doctor. You don't need any complications with your arm. I suggest you not to joke with your health, because you don't know how it can affect you in the future.
In the life there are so many things we want to do but we don't. And this basketball season is not the last one. You definitely will catch up with it.
