GM Dex-Cool Anti Freeze? for what car?

I want to know if i can use GM Dex-Cool Antifreeze for a Chevy Tahoe 2000. I dont know if Chevy is part of the GM vehicles for use of this particular antifreeze. Please let me know! Thanks in advance

You've got the correct formulation (Dex-Cool) but it's not necessary to buy it from GM.

Actually several companies have their name on Dex-Cool Antifreeze. You can walk into Walmart and purchase either Texaco or Prestone with the Dex-cool formulation on the front of the gallon bottle. Do not buy pre-mixed antifreeze it's a total rip-off. For less than $1.00 more you can purchase 100% antifreeze. One gallon of 100% Dex-Cool makes 2 full gallons of 50/50 coolant.

GM Dexcool has been in most GM vehicles since the 1995 model year (my '96 Olds has it).

Easiest way to be sure is to call a GM Dealership Service Dept and ask them. Takes two minutes.

If your anti freeze is pink, replace it with the pink stuff, if it's green, use the green stuff. The brand you use is just a matter of personal preference. The pink stuff has an additive that resists static electricity, That's how it lasts for 100,000 miles. It really doesn't hurt to mix the two, but you will loose the properties that make it last longer.
