Yes, because I am an American. I am proud of my country and am more than willing to show respect for it.

I positioned my provide up my coronary heart and take off my hat. Why? using fact I honor and understand what the flag symbolizes. My protection tension service gave me a great reverence for what the flag symbolizes. As a remember of understand and international family, I additionally stand and eliminate my hat while different international locations' anthems are performed. Disrespect isn't an honorable action.

Yes to both. Where I live it's probably a pretty good bet that a good majority of the people who respectfully have their hands over their hearts at a sporting or other such public event are fellow American loving liberals.

Sometimes, sometimes not. No big reason either way. Sometimes I sing along, sometimes I don't. Doesn't make me any less American than anyone else. I don't have to respond like a trained chimp to prove my patriotism.

Star Spangled Banner - No hand on heart; but standing and hat off.
Pledge - Hand on heart, standing, hat off. (and by the way, I don't say the "Under God" part)
Why? because that is common tradition.

No to the Star Spangled Banner yes to the Pledge of Allegiance.
To all those cons who said it shows respect to the country you love, another way would be to ENLIST.
Maybe the Army wouldnt have to take convicts if all these "loyal" Americans would do more than pay lip service to patriotism.
Guess that would too much like being a REAL American for them.

Yes. Because the flag they reffer to is the same one so many marines died to raise over Iwo Jima. It simbalizes the freedom and greatness of this country and the sacrifice so many have made to make it that way.
So much was given so that flag can be raised, the least I can do is solute it.

Hand on heart. If wearing a hat, hat on heart. Hat always comes off. Somethings always on the heart.
because i'm not a soldier, so i don't salute and giving the Hitler arm-in-the-air would be rude an inappropriate.
