West Coast (Urgent! please help!)?

Hi guys! For those living in the United States, can somebody tell me about the West Coast, what states comprises it, the kind of people, art and why it is great for photography. Any information will be very useful. Thank you very much.

California, Oregon and Washington state on the continguous 48. Alaska and Hawaii are also Pacific coastal states.

It is generally viewed as a laid-back, open-minded place, a place where progessive politics are more acceptable, and where greener urban practices can be implemented. Sometimes it lives up to those depictions, sometimes not.

It is great for photography because the western mountains, deserts, rainforests and the Pacific coast all offer dramtic and beautiful terrain.
