Favre's coming off the injury, and is playing a much improved Raiders team that just beat KC and Denver. Meanwhile Tavaris has completed 72 percent of passes in the past four weeks and the Vikings are red hot. Any suggestions?

Jackson, for the reasons you mentioned, but you should also consider Favre's health. He suffered a separated shoulder in last week's game, as well as the swollen hand. The shoulder hasn't healed, he'll need cortisone shots. You also need to consider that Aaron Rodgers came into the game and performed admirably, so I don't think there would be any hesitation pulling Favre for Rodgers. This could just be about the streak of starts too. It's conceivable Favre would play a couple of sets and then have Rodgers take over.

Jackson is developing into a legitimate option at QB. He's making the right decisions and playing with poise. You should consider yourself fortunate to have him this week.

"Tavaris has completed 72 percent of passes in the past four weeks". This is a great example of statistics being misleading.

First, he's actually only played the past 3 weeks. In those three weeks, he threw for 504 yds, three TDs, and 2 INTs. In my league, that would be a total of 33 fantasy points (we get 1 point per 25 yds passing, 6 for a TD, minus 2 for an INT). You could say that he has been improving and could REALLY bust out vs the 49ers, and there's no way I could argue with you. HOWEVER...

In the same period, Favre passed for 655 yds, 6 TDs, 2 INTs) - 58 points in my league, or nearly twice as many. He only got to play half a game last week, so those numbers would work out to another 131 yds and a TD had he stayed in. GB plays Oakland, so really no advantage matchup-wise.

NFL.com notes "It appears the veteran should be able to play in Week 14 against the Raiders, barring any setbacks this week, but you should definitely have a capable replacement on your bench just in case". Jackson is your capable replacement; start Favre for now.

"'Just to quote the medical staff, his [starting] streak is not in danger. He'll be OK,' coach Mike McCarthy said Friday, the day after Favre was knocked out of the Packers' 37-27 loss at Dallas with elbow and shoulder injuries."

That was the day after the game. Favre is apparently superhuman in his healing abilities. Plus, he's been fantasy gold all season. Jackson probably won't get you 30+ points since he plays a side role in the Peterson/Taylor Show, so even if Favre has an off day you didn't give too much up.

Take a flyer on Jackson. The Vikings are making a huge push for the playoffs and AP's running will open up a passing attack that will be based on "safer" routes to keep drives moving forward. I have the feeling Favre is a bit more banged up than the reports are indicating.....also, his performance is starting to flatten out.

"What about Brett Fav-ra? Brett is going to play and the 49ers are going to tee off on Jackson!(wishful thinking) Go with Brett against "Da-raaay-daaz"! Truly, the 9ers made Vinnie look like a Heisman winner(oh yah he was....I think I saw him play in black and white) but I think Brett will show the cheeseheads that he still has it.....I think he might be feeling a little heat from Chico, CA's own Aaron Rodgers too!
