I think Pretty is on the outside and beautiful is the inside.

Beauty is in the eye/mind of the beholder. As Shakespeare wrote, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. I would say "Pretty" is 4 to 6 on that 1 to 10 scale, then comes "beautiful," the "gorgeous." But it's all subjective.

Far as I'm concerned, Pretty is on the Outside. Beautiful is on the Inside. The UGLIEST people can be so Very Beautiful.

Being "pretty" has connotations of innocence and naivity. A young girl is "pretty". A "pretty" girl may not even know she is pretty. Pretty is based solely on looks.

Beauty is more mature. It involves not only someone's looks, but one's inner spirit. It invovles how one carries oneself. Beauty is purposeful. I would have a hard time calling someone Beautiful if they were naive about themselves.

Both are considered "pure", as opposed to "sexy" or "hot". Don't mistake my comments about Beauty as meaning that it is less pure. Beauty is an ideal that you strive for, thus you must be aware of it in order to strive for it.

Well, I suppose everyone has a different perception of who is pretty and who is beautiful, but I think to be beautiful you have to have something a little bit unique, exotic, or elegant about you. Pretty is more common perhaps, maybe cuter or something, but doesn't quite take your breath away.

Don't know...that's a tricky one to answer, I think it's just that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'!

I think they are completely two different things. Pretty is one TYPE of attraction, and beautiful is a different. Mostly, beautiful is a little deeper and involves an aura with it. Pretty is just physical, but isn't trying to be lusty.

Can be difficult to explain. Pretty is a pretty face... Naturally good looking, even when your hair sucks, ur make-up is running, etc. Most super-models are not 'pretty'!

Anyone can be 'beautiful'... Even fat ugly people. This is stuff like nice eyes, nice hair, wears nice clothes. Zits aren't beautiful though.

Like I said... hard for me to explain, but I hope I've doen an alrite job =P

being pretty has to do with having a cute smile because you have dimples or your haircut shapes your face really well: features that aren't rare.

being beautiful and gorgeous means that your look is unique and exotic to the point where its rare to find someone that has so many amazing features to them as well as confidence in the fact that they look so amazing.....however........don't confuse this with arrogance.

Bottom line: anyone can look pretty with a bit of makeup and some hairspray

Pretty = a girlish, almost barbie doll-ish sort of quality.
Beautiful = something that can be derived from many ideals and is the sum product of what your own eye finds appealing at the end of the day.
