I gave my almost 1 year old daughter whole milk for the first time yesterday. today she had a fever of 101. could the fever be a reaction to the milk?? she had no other symptoms, except her stool was a little softer today...but not like diahrea(dont know how to spell that sorry).

It's unlikely, but if I were you I would not give her any more dairy for a week after the fever subsides and then I'd try it again and observe her for another reaction. If she gets a fever again, consult with your doctor.

A food allergy will show up within the hour after consuming it. Probably just a bug going around. Milk allergies have symptoms ranging from diarrhea to rash to vomiting.

I doubt it highly. She'd get the full on runs, or a rash if she were allergic to it. She must have a virus of some kind.

The dioreeah (sp!) could be, but I doubt the temperature is due to something she ate.
