3/5 = 6/10 = 0.6
To change a fraction into a decimal, divide top line by bottom line:-
3/4 = 75/100 = 0.75
3/8 = 0.375 (upon dividing)
4/5 = 8/10 = 0.8
etc

To convert fractions to decimals is just a matter of dividing, then expressing the result as a decimal.
3 divided by 5 = 0.6
Do you remember how to do that? You attempt to divide 5 into 3.0000, however many zeros you need. Five can't go into three any whole number of times, so above the 3 you write a zero. Put your decimal point after the zero, since that's the end of your whole number 3.
Now you use the first zero after the 3. Can 5 go into 30? Yes, 6 times exactly. Write the 6 just after the decimal point, so you've got 0.6. Forget about the other zeros, since you didn't need them.
I wish I had a blackboard--this could be explained more easily that way.
It's important that you master this basic level of math in order to function in the adult world.
