I believe it was brought in to make more money for the government.
I pay Road Tax, Parking Fees AND bloody Congestion Charge at £8 per day????!!!!! - It makes me sooooo mad.
What a MASSIVE con to the poor people that are forced to enter the zones.

I cant answer for myself as I live in Spain and traffic is minuscule here thank goodness, However my son lives in Westminster, he thinks its great and has made a huge difference to the volume of traffic, sorry if this is unpopular but he gives it a definite thumbs up.

no,just another form of ''revenue raising''.....and it's gonna get worst before and if it ever gets better.studies have shown a minute to non existing increase at average speed and ken is now proposing the fine,if you forget to pay ,to be 20 £....I hate living and working in London

Yes, me. And as I regularly ride a motorbike in central London I have noticed a definite improvement in the amount of traffic that I have to negotiate around.
Mind you, as a motorbike rider, I don't pay the congestion charge - hee hee.

no this is another way for the labour government to make monies out of use poor working class...i say poor cos when i have payed my bill....rent ...dentist....council tax...had one good night out.....and precipitations...etc then I'm poor to, as my wages have gone to the things above...so here I'm paying more monies into the labour party......
