When do they start working on it, and when is it released?

Most teams have their "tentative" schedules posted on the web. MLB has a few things to firm up before they release the "official" schedule. I know we already received the Phils ticket schedule.
I believe they start working on it the year before - in other words - the 2009 schedule will be worked on just as the 2008 schedule begins.

It's pretty much done, with the exception of setting game starting times. Many teams already have tentative schedules available on their Web sites, and those that don't have already leaked much of their schedule, or at least its highlights.

I'd expect to see finalized schedules before the end of the year, but the tentative ones are likely to be quite accurate.

It also seems to me that it is pretty much doen so check out your team(s) offical website, for thier schedule, and see if you can also pick up a pocket schedule for your team, so you can have one on you at all times.
