Nixon freezed gasoline prices.
Now Bush is going to freeze mortgage rises and allow mortagage holders to pay "according to thier ability to pay"
isnt that straight out of Marxist dogma?

"The Fed bailed out all the stupid banks who were passing out loans to illegals..."
Yah, yah, yah. We know that Republicans hate Mexicans. Do you guys have to blame them for everything?
And for all you people saying that to force the interest rate lower is not taking money from the bankers and giving it to the borrowers, are you serious?
To answer the original question. Yes, it is socialist. ANything that the government does to help people is technically socialist. Socialism is only a bad word when Republicans use to to attack Democrats. When Republicans do socialist things, they call it "responsible government".
And get a load of the guy who said that if Hillary Clinton proposes it, it can't be socialist. This from the same guy who called Hillary Clinton a socialist in another thread.

The growth of the church with many poor made life easier for the church. The rpovison of God and Jesus Christ may mean that some are wealthy and others less wealthy. Mimmicing the gospel commands without the gospel seems like our adversaries approach of protest, violence and a course of destructive measures. Socialism never existed in a political way in those times. Messiah Yahshua /Jesus Christ came long before socialism. You seem to imply the opposite. Sharing and caring is not an easy thing to do unless God does so through Jesus Christ. Money should not separate us from the love of God nor be a false god to any person of our faith.

Look, Bush is NOT a conservative. He spends money like a drunken sailor on payday. (no offense to sailors)
The market will correct itself and government should not insert itself here.
The real estate problems were brought about but its own industry. I understand that some folks are having problems, but I think that the answer lies with the lender and the borrower, not the government.

Is "freezed" a word"?
Anyway, Nixon is dead. So the real socialists today are the only ones that count, and that would be anyone lobbying for government regulation or outright takeover in every industry under the stars.
By the way, government seizing of industries is always in the formula for dictators. People power is the hallmark of democracies. Never vote for anyone who wants bigger government. You'll be giving your children away to slavery.

Wow, I hear Hillary is on CNBC right now proposing the exact same thing.
Funny thing, interest rates are on their way down again. Is this freeze another attempt to lock in mortgage company profits against another rate cut?

Are you confused Samantha?
Clinton = Socialist
Bush = Socialist

The truth is that almost all Americans support a level of government support for needy people that was at one time decried as "socialist." This same accusation was leveled at Social Security, Medicare, school lunches and every other government program. It's a meaningless scare tactic.

The Fed bailed out all the stupid banks who were passing out loans to illegals...if they really believed in free markets why would they subsidize the floundering businesses? I can understand subsidizing agriculture...but financial industries should be able to stand on their own 2 feet and if they go bankrupt because of unruly loan policies then they should feel the reprecussions of it and not be rewarded for their own stupidity...but nepotism being what it is...

This is simply a delay of the inevitable. In this regard, his action, if taken could be considered socialistic.

That is a good example of the kettle calling the pot black. Hillary Clinton and John Edwards support a true socialist/marxist agenda in nearly all of their policies.

Every now and then throughout history both Dem and Republican Presidents have employed freezes of some type over history in times of economic necessity. This is one such case. I find it amusing that Bush is trying to help borrowers and yet the libs try to criticize him for this by calling him socialist. It just does not wash.
