Christmas Eve. Much more intimate, I'm going to one with a total gathering of around 40 people. New Years Eve is too racuous and everything is drink-induced; plus Christmas Eve holds genuine anticipation for me, I can't get in to the whole pseudo-cameraderie of the next year being a 'better one' (I enjoyed this year), or worse, celebrating simply the fact that the sun will set and rise again.
