What is the government going to do for all the people who didn't get in over their heads with a sub-prime mortgage? Where's my cookie for living within my means and being able to look ahead five years, and stick with my fixed rate loan?

Jay P must be the banker from Citigroup or his flunkie. What idiot believes that we are supposed to bailout every down and out sob story, every irresponsible living-in-a-fantasy world social climber and every greedy corrupt banker that comes along? No where in the constitution does it say government has a right to be a charity with the people's money. In fact, it expressly forbids it in case anybody cares.

I agree with you, but your cookie is not having to worry about all of this crap. I'm fiscally repsonsible and personally very happy that I'm not in position to have to worry about losing my home. I'm also going to gain from the stabilization of world financial markets that will occur with fewer loan defaults. Everybody wins if there are few foreclosures my friend.

There are very few government progams that genuinely benfit everyone in our society. I'm sure you benefit from decutions or programs that others don't.
