Every night, after a hard day's work, I arrive home to a mailbox filled with bills and junk mail. Just ONCE The Nolte would like to find a romantic, handwritten love letter, instead of just another credit card bill containing pages and pages of charges racked up at Brandon's favorite "toy" store.

I don't sent or receive romantic letters, but my son and I exchange letters of love, snail mail style. He is more consistant than I am, and often sends sweet cards thanking me for being his mother. Does that count? (I don't feel like I deserve them, but it sure is great to receive them. Email me your address and I'll make sure you get some sweet mail, Son! I won't sell your address, I PROMISE!)

I still do. I had a penpal who died about two years ago. She and I had corresponded for better than 25 years and I still miss her terribly. But I have a significant other who I send an e-card to EVERY DAY, but also cards that I buy at Wally World or the Hallmark Store on occasion that I send to Him. I would never think of sending Him an on-line greeting card for His birthday or Christmas! And I do write Him occasional love letters!!! He's worth it!

I write handwritten poems and letters/notes all the time. Sometimes there are things you can't say out loud that you can say in a letter. And if you are angry at someone, it is a good way to get your feelings out. Sometimes, by the end of the letter, you aren't even mad anymore. You've gotten it all out.

I agree, there needs to be more hand written forms of compassion. I give my significant other handwritten poems and letters especially when I really want his attention to what my issues are or let him know I think of him often, and he also leaves me lil love notes here and there it's the best way to to show someone you care that won't add another bill to your mail pile.

I would LOVE for my husband to just write me a one line note on a post it......although I do write him letters when he's in the hospital for more than 3 days letting him know how much I miss him, and how I miss his warm body in bed, because it just gets too damn cold up here! Come to think of it I've never recieved an actual love letter unless one of those check yes or no's count. I agree it is a lost art, maybe it is time we revive it!

The only loveletters I write are handwritten and smothered in Chanel No 5, with lots of little pink hearts on the envelope. Care for one? Baby, just say the word.

Love letters are not a thing of the past...they are still alive and well. Why you must have received millions of them while you were in jail!!

You know what I hate...when you send someone a 'mad' letter, and they send it back with the spelling and grammar corrected.

I DO! I write my husband love letters all the time.

...but I can't post what is on them.... hehehehe as they are for adult eyes only! /giggle

I'm sure if you posted your address you would get a lot of letters......... just don't snort any white powder you get in the mail . . . That might be from an angry Yahoo!Troll
