Yesterday I posted about my son having diarrhea after 2 days of squash but then 2 regualar days. Now he has it again after 2 days of sweet potatos. I am nervous b/c I dont know why. He doesnt have any type rash to indicate allergy to the food and actually feels great like normal. He just has runny runny runny diapers. What do you think and should I call the doctor? Im thinking they will just say to keep him hydrated since he feels fine.

I also think he might be teething. Could that be the reason for the tummy trouble? Poor baby!!!

If he's teething, that is most definitely the reason for the runny poo. Try giving him some bananas because that will help a lot. If the diarrhea persists for more than 3 days, then call the doctor or if your son shows other signs of illness like not wanting to eat or drink, not play, sleep too long or not enough. Good luck!

Were the vegetables the only food he had besides formula? If you have given him any juice, that could cause runny stools. Also, we all have looser stools when we're getting our fiber, so it's likely that it's just the vegetable matter having a semi-normal effect on him.

Diarrhea isn't likely to be a sign of a food allergy, unless it's accompanied by other symptoms. If his stomach is upset after eating (which you'd notice because he'd be crying and perhaps throwing up), then you might ask the doctor. Otherwise, I'd assume it's just regular irregularity.

Teething doesn't cause diarrhea. It could cause him to not feel well, but that wouldn't give him loose stools.

No teething is not the issue! Whenever babies start on new food or solid it take there little tummies for a ride ya know! As long as he is eating and acting fine and not running a temp then chances are he will be fine. Also if you want the runs to stop give him some banana's. If you are really worried call the ped. Good Luck Hun!

Teething could be a reason for diarrhea, as baby swallows excessive drool, and bowels loosen. Typically solids do not cause diarrhea....more constipation. Go ahead and call the doc for reinforcement. It never hurts. GL

I'm no expert, but maybr you could give him something with more iron in it. Iron can sometimes make you constipated, so maybe it will give him a happy medium.
