if the bush administration has it's way there will be no difference.

I have heard of peaceful protest getting out of hand because opposers of the protest send in agitators and getting the protestors blamed for havoc caused by it. in fact it is a perfect problem reaction solution, peaceful protests always end up in violence so the solution is ban all protest. instead of dealing with the real cause of the problem. the police are just looking for the slightest excuse to taser everyone, all it takes is one stupid fool to cause the cops to feel fully justified in arresting and harassing the protestors until they lash out of self defense and thus justify martial law.

the news media would never be honest enough to bring this all out, they are in for the dramatic, News flash Protestors attack police in fulfledge riot against ______ ! put whatever the issue is on that line.

A great number of times people paid very well to cause trouble. Knew person during Vietnam days that told of getting $1,000.00 to turn peaceful march into shouting match with police. He never told were it came from. He would have worked for highest bidder no matter the cause, and think it is safe to assume police had people paid to cause trouble on there side such as Chicago Democratic Convention. Under the current administration's definition, a riot is any gathering of more than three people in a public venue that criticize the President or his policies.
A peaceful protest is any gathering of Bush supporters that are willing to not only publicly support the President, but are also willing to break up any "riots" they might run across.

Riot is when physical violence occurs or people are destroying property. Peaceful protest does not involve any violence.
